Acceptance = Non-Resistance, or does it? After a lifetime of contrast and life lessons, I am still working on non-resistance, how about you? In Eckhart Tolle’s book “A New Earth – Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose” there is a great deal written about the pain body, which is the EGO’s way of staying in charge at all costs.
[Tweet “To offer no resistance to life is to be in a state of grace, ease, and lightness. This state is then no longer dependent upon things being in a certain way, good or bad. It seems almost paradoxical, yet when your inner dependency on form is gone, the general conditions of your life, the outer forms, tend to improve greatly. – Eckhart Tolle”]
Is non-resistance really acceptance, or are we just trying to trick the EGO? I wonder sometimes. It’s a conundrum! No matter what your station in life, there are things you need to be non-resistant to, it really makes life more pleasant! Parents deal with acceptance and resistance daily, children are master teachers. Maybe it’s a job, or a relationship you are dealing with. When your belief system, politics and lifestyle is different from others, do you judge them, accept or resist who they are, and how they live their lives?
Back to the pain body. The pain body loves to renew itself by feeding off thoughts, feelings, drama, or anything it thinks will keep it alive through past conditioning and programming. It needs food to survive, so when the triggers are removed and the association with them healed, the pain body cannot survive. Resistance wreaks havoc, acceptance and non-resistance allows a beautiful healing of the body, mind and spirit.
When we vibrate to a high frequency there is no current to feed things of a negative nature. Acceptance does not mean being weak, it is an allowance of joy flowing through every cell, energizing all life. As Eckhart says, “A happy, positive thought is indigestible to the pain-body. It can only feed on negative thoughts because only those thoughts are compatible with its own energy field.”
I’ve been thinking about this subject and how resistance cancels out acceptance. I would love for you to share your thoughts on the subject. Thank you for listening!
